ABSTRACT

Robert Drake, professor emeritus at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, is the author of two scholarly monographs; a critical study of Flannery O’Connor; The Writer and His Tradition (1969), which is a popular treatment of selected American writers and their influence; and three volumes of short stories, Amazing Grace (1965), The Single Heart (1971), and Survivors and Others (1987). He has also written a memoir of life in Tennessee, For the Record: A Robert Drake Reader (2001).
