ABSTRACT
Today, it is difficult to fathom the combination of despair and cruelty that responded to the AIDS epidemic in the United States during the 1980s. The following film provides great insight into this, as does the documentary We Were Here (D-8), which is presented in Part II. Although HIV/AIDS is no longer front page news as it was at that time, let it also be said that the number of cases of infection worldwide continues to increase, as does the number who die from being infected with AIDS.
