ABSTRACT
Freedom of opinion and freedom of the press are two pillars of human rights protection. Not only are these two important in their own right, but they serve to protect other human rights as well. Yet, in times of crisis, or perhaps more accurately, perceived crisis, these rights can be swept aside in favor of conformity and censorship—whether official censorship or self-censorship.
