ABSTRACT

As a general rule, I find that documentaries are better able to capture violations of economic, social, and cultural rights better than feature films do. The previous two films certainly prove this as does the following documentary, set in inner-city Chicago. People of a certain age should be familiar with Hoop Dreams because it received a fair amount of publicity when it was released, and people would make references to William and Arthur as if they were speaking of old friends, which in a sense they were.
