ABSTRACT
Much of the attention given to Chinese cinema has focused on feature films such as Raise the Red Lantern or To Live. As outstanding as these films are, one should not overlook many of the documentaries that are coming out of China that expose such things as the exploitation of the country's workers, the frightening levels of environmental degradation, and the epidemic political corruption at all levels of government.
