ABSTRACT

It is no great secret that many multinational corporations (MNCs) wield an enormous amount of economic and political power. However, one of the great concerns of human rights practitioners and scholars is the degree to which MNCs are oftentimes left unregulated in their operations in developing countries. This is due to the fact that the host state is either unable or unwilling to regulate corporate practices and that home states have shown little willingness to protect against the extraterritorial abuses committed by their own corporations. As a result of all this, as the next film shows, citizens in developing states have suffered greatly due to the unregulated practices of Western MNCs.
