ABSTRACT
In the varieties of utilitarian theories of action it is possible to assume such things as isolated events or isolated interests. By and large sociologists have preferred alternative theories that stressed the “imbeddedness” of an event in other events, talking for example of a “complex” by referring to fi ve senses of “imbeddedness,” which we shall consider the criteria of organization of a set of possibilities of experience, a world.
