ABSTRACT
Her clan is L’eeneidi, and her Tlingit name is T’set Kwei. But she is known to most as Vera Marlene Starbard, born on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. She moved frequently around the state of Alaska as a child, following her father’s position as an Alaska State Trooper, and often turned to her Tlingit and Dena’ina Athabascan heritage for artistic inspiration.
