ABSTRACT
An English ship sailing near the Spanish shore is engaged by a Spanish frigate. In the course of the battle the captain of the British ship is slain, whereupon a young woman (conveniently at hand) takes his place and overcomes the enemy. The battle over, the sailors drink a toast to her and to the gallant ship.
