Kidson mentions ‘a garland copy o f this song printed in the year 1775 entitled “ The Constant Shepherd and the Unconstant Shepherdess’ ” . Another version consisting o f seven eight-line stanzas was published by Christie under the title o f ‘Clara and C orydon’ . Lucy Broadwood collected a version in Sussex under the title ‘Floro the Unkind Shepherdess’ . More recently it has been reported from Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and the province o f Ontario.
