ABSTRACT

The intellectual love of God is positioned at the zenith of Spinoza's system, for in it is contained our highest blessedness and salvation, three concepts that are one in his system. There is no real difference between God's intellectual love of himself and man's intellectual love of God the contradiction between the internal and external cause must appear as a constructive contradiction not only for God but also for the man who has obtained knowledge of the third kind. The spotlight of the knowledge of the third kind is directed towards the metaphysical chain that links natura naturans to natura naturata, for it perceives uno intuito the ensuing, from within the appropriate attribute of God, whose essence is the essence of individual things. Thus, all of the contradictions within his philosophy flow into the third kind of knowledge, in the framework of which we become aware of the circularity according to which the contradicting elements are derived from one another.
