ABSTRACT

An international team of social scientists contributing to this book investigated Russian participation in an extremely dynamic process of the international investment cooperation. In the majority of chapters, the authors used a geographical perspective with a special focus on Russia’s investment to individual countries, such as China, Estonia, Finland, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, and the USA, or regions, such as the EU, the EAEU, and Latin America. In addition to the regional focus, the chapters vary in their selection of theoretical framework (OLI paradigm, institutionalism, network industry concept, and others), the methodology (qualitative versus quantitative research approach), direction of FDI flows (inbound versus outbound, or sometimes both), more or less distinctive emphasis on particular MNEs, individual industries, etc.
