ABSTRACT

Part Three displays advances on mobile-assisted language learning processes, firstly focusing on how mobile-based tasks presented to students can enhance communication competence in the classroom, even if the students show different levels when learning English as a Foreign Language, to then move on a step forward and provide us with the perspective of mobile devices being key elements in the design of Language Massive Open Online Courses (LMOOCs), as they enable students to overcome the constraints of face-to-face classes and benefit from the use of specialized devices: portable course clients, mobile sensor-enabled devices and handheld computers. Finally, this section complements the vision so far provided with a proposal to use technologies as vocabulary learning tools, as well as putting forward the use of these technologies to improve the performance of MALL designs.
