Hutchison sat with my wife till, but her pains ceasing, she, & all went to Bed. We lay till 6 tho my wife had but little sleep thro many Pains which came a er she was abed. We arose and about 8 let Sis Telchig, & Guƒssenbauers know of it by Molly Mireld, and they came about 9. My Wife continu’d Periodically ill all ye forenoon but not to ye Purpose. We did’d & some of ye Women with us & a erwards join’d in Prayers together. About two her Labour began to come on, at 5 she gave up all hopes of being deliver’d, and at 39 min past 5 was safely deliver’d of a SON which ye 6th Child and 5th Son she has born. A er all was over and she abed ye child dress’d etc ye good women took some Refreshment, and then we Sung a Verse and we return’d anks & before 8 all ye women was gone except Nelly, who stays to be nurse.1
