ABSTRACT

This chapter is an account of a four-week visit made in September 1970 to Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The purpose of the visit was to study the provisions made in Scandinavia for physically handicapped children either in special or in ordinary classes within the ordinary schools, and through discussion with a wide range of persons concerned with this field to evaluate the success of these provisions and to discover what the problems were, and how they were being met. Fuller details of this visit are given in a booklet published by the College of Special Education (Anderson, 1971).
