ABSTRACT

This book collates the expertise of adult educators working in tertiary institutions and/or workplace environments (media, health, nance, psychology, education, industry, and consultancy) around the globe with a view to considering the implications for professional development and professional learning in formal and informal interdisciplinary environments. Our book is research informed. But it is not intended to be a book that simply explores and reports on research on professional and adult learning. It is intended to be a book that allows those who were/are successful in their community of practice to share what they know and understand with other adult educators working with adult learners in a variety of settings. The book is intended to help those working with adult learners to navigate through institutional, strategic and personal perspectives in order to address the challenges and opportunities they encounter in their work with adult learners.
