ABSTRACT
There is probably no better way of summarizing the long-term prospects
for a mineral commodity shortage or surplus than by predicting the long
term behavior of prices. It is not done here with any illusion that such
predictions can be anywhere near accurate, but as a way of clarifying the
meaning of qualitative judgments.
