ABSTRACT
The requirements of the Factories Act 1961 applied to ‘building operations’ and ‘works of engineering construction’ (ie construction work), but few of the Act’s requirements actually dealt with the safety of workers in construction processes. Specific regulations were made with the intention of protecting employees against the particular dangers arising in the industry.
