ABSTRACT

Russell published two reviews, 13a and 13b, of Joachim’s book The Nature of Truth. The first of them appeared in a popular Liberal journal, The Independent Review, 9 (June 1906): 349–53 (B&R C06.09), while the second appeared in Mind, n.s. 15 (Oct. 1906): 528–33 (B&R C06.15). The Independent Review described itself as an intellectual monthly promoting liberalism, progress and peace; it was founded by, among others, Russell’s friend George Trevelyan (see A11: 33 in Russell 1985, 449).
