ABSTRACT
The relationship between India and the European Union (EU) has greatly intensi ed during the last decade. Following a pioneering political declaration in 1994, both parties held their rst political summit in Lisbon in 2000, which has become an annual event. In 2004, India became one of the EU’s strategic partners and in the subsequent year, both sides agreed on a Joint Action Plan, which was then revised in 2008. ey now collaborate in a wide array of spheres including culture, education, science, climate change, migration, business cooperation, etc.1
