ABSTRACT

Lawrence Kohlberg’s affinity for Piaget’s theory of cognitive development is evident in his theory of moral development. In fact, by describing children as natural moral philosophers, Kohlberg (Kohlberg & Gilligan, 1971) parallels Piaget’s contention that children are natural scientists and mathematicians. It is no surprise, then, that we find Kohlberg closely allied with Piaget’s constructivism.
