ABSTRACT
Before children ever walk through the doors of an elementary school, they havehad multiple exposures to music and have experienced music in many differentways. In prekindergarten programs, children play many kinds of classroom instruments; explore sounds; create dramatizations to songs; play singing games; and respond to music of various types, times, and cultures. Preschoolers experience music joyfully and playfully-music and life seem to go together!
