ABSTRACT
One of the fastest-developing areas for distribution of video content is via the Internet, including the World Wide Web. Web distribution of video has become extremely popular. This chapter explains the basic concepts of video on demand and streaming media, the steps in the process of preparing video and audio for streaming over the Internet, and the technology that is involved in this process.
