ABSTRACT
Avariety of different international organizations actively participate inworld politics. This chapter details several major intergovernmentalorganizations (IGOs) in terms of their structures and functions. These IGOs were selected on the basis of their significance to world and regional politics and their geopolitical orientation. Although other IGOs are discussed in later chapters, the purpose here is to provide an abbreviated overview of some of the IGOs central to international relations.
