ABSTRACT
Modern videotape recording systems work by passing the video signal through two or more rotating video heads, which then encode the signal onto a piece of videotape. A video recording head is really a small electromagnet. Both sides of the head are wrapped with a coil of wire, and a current passing through the wire causes an electromagnetic charge to be emitted at the gap-the space between the two sides of the head.
