ABSTRACT
China’s ambitious 21st-century Maritime Silk Road (MSR) is not a stand-alone initiative. It is part of a much larger blueprint, whose final objective is the economic integration of the Asia and Europe, with China as its primary pole. China and Russia have emerged as core partners in this ambitious enterprise of shifting the centre of gravity of geo-economic as well as geopolitical power towards Eurasia.
