ABSTRACT
AS we have seen, the human species differs from the rest of the animal world in the fact that the greater part of its evolution is brought about by a system which depends on a socio-genetic mechanism for transmitting information from one generation to the next. It is now time to consider in more detail how this socio-genetic system operates, and the way in which ethical beliefs are implicated in it.
