ABSTRACT
The student is the client of the education system; the data system facilitates his or her needs by empowering the users of that system. Here are some things vendors can do to make their systems work best for educators: Provide an accurate and clear picture of the implementation process; Provide Technical Support in many forms for the client and allow any user to use that Tech Support; Forge an ongoing and lasting relationship with all stakeholders; Provide professional development for all users; Continue to refresh and enhance the product; Make the user experience and the data easy to use and effective to present in reports; Accept input from clients to make their experience better; Focus on the ultimate goal, which is making a student's life better. Educators have vast stores of knowledge and experience in specialized areas that impact data use and data needs.
