ABSTRACT

Basic examination information The Psychology Board of Australia (the Board) uses the National Psychology Examination (NPE) to help assess applied competence and thus ensure a consistent professional standard for psychological practice nationally (Psychology Board of Australia, 2013c). The Board is the primary source of information regarding the NPE and thus the information and descriptions that follow should not be seen as a substitute for accessing the information the Board has made available for those seeking General Registration. Indeed, while the following information is current at the time of printing, it is essential that those about to sit the NPE explore and visit regularly the Board’s posted information regarding the NPE for any updates, notices, and possible changes. As stated directly by the Board “examination candidates should check the website regularly for updates” (Psychology Board of Australia, 2013c, p. 3).
