ABSTRACT

Color theory is serious science. It involves physics, optics, brain

functions, and psychology. There are PhDs in labs working to

better understand color, so we aren’t going to cover it properly

in one chapter. On the other hand, the amount of color theory

we need to comprehend for successful scene painting is

manageable. Mostly, you need to be able to look at a color you

want to paint in a reference image or a sample and reverse-

engineer the color so you can mix it yourself.
