Recommendations for Academic Leaders

Here is a bold prediction: Unless institutional leaders in any college or university play a key role in (1) promoting a culture conducive to mentoring and (2) creating a structure to facilitate high rates of effective mentoring, the probability that any student or junior faculty member will be well mentored hovers somewhere between poor and unlikely.
