ABSTRACT

Introduction to the Central Limit Theorem If we were to summarize what has been accomplished in the past few chapters, it would be as follows. In Chapter 4, we began looking at descriptive statistics. That is, numbers that describe or summarize data. We discussed some central tendency measures of descriptive statistics such as the mean and median. This told us something about the typical characteristics of some data we were interested in. We also looked at the standard deviation as a measure of dispersion. This showed how much variance or play there was in the data.
