ABSTRACT
Introduction In this chapter, we introduce how to test the validity of a hypothesis about a single population mean using a sample mean. Although the format pretty much follows that laid out in Chapter 8, this chapter dresses it up a bit and applies it to public policy. One difference will be the way the null hypothesis is stated for the one-tail directional test.
