ABSTRACT
Introduction In the Charles Dickens epic A Christmas Carol there comes a point where Ebinezer Scrooge is confronted by the Ghost of Christmas Future and comments that it is the presence of this spirit that he fears the most. Similar to the way Scrooge fears the ghost, students of statistics often fear the topic of regression analysis more than any other concept. The irony is, there is really nothing to fear because it really is not all that difficult. In his first inaugural address, Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best: “there is nothing to fear but fear itself.” The same applies to regression analysis.
