ABSTRACT
This paper is a discussion of the possible ranges of costs of pipeline gas from Canada and Alaska; liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Alaska and foreign countries; and synthetic pipeline gas produced from coal and oil at likely plant sites in the United States. It is hoped that these comparisons will provide the reader with a better understanding of the role that each alternative source may play in supplementing our domestic supplies of natural gas.
