ABSTRACT
Natural gas together with natural gas liquids supplies about one-third of the energy from fuel con sumed in the United States. Since 1925 not only have absolute volumes of gas consumed increased continuously but also the percentage of total energy supplied by gas steadily increased until the 1960s. Emphasis on pollution control and price increases in other fuels have recently caused further increased demand for natural gas.
