ABSTRACT
Our commentary in this section will deal with (1) some difficulties in the usage of ‘being’ in the tradition prior to ibn Sīnā, (2) remarks of an etymological and analytical nature on ibn Sīnā’s doctrine of ‘being’, and (3) some resemblances and differences between ibn Sīnā’s views and the views of other philosophers of his intellectual tradition.
