ABSTRACT

Self-thinking is a manner of thinking: she who thinks is identical with her of whom she thinks in virtue of thinking in this manner. Thinking in this manner is thinking a manner of being: being as one is thought in this way is thinking oneself to be so. And this manner of being is nothing other than the manner of thinking in which it is thought. It is a manner of being: being that is thinking. It is a manner of thinking: thinking that is being.
