These intervals may be represented by discrete phases of activity, for example a payment once ground works are completed, another payment when the steel frame is erected and so on. This approach to payment is called an ‘activity schedule’. The most common approach to payment is, however, to use regular timeframes for the issuing of funds; this could be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on what parties to contracts agree.
