ABSTRACT
WF sustainability and response strategies are the critical aspects when we speak about the ‘water footprint’, as they give a meaningful context to what a WF value entails. Water footprint assessment (WFA) is an emerging interdisciplinary research field that has been applied extensively in industries and geographical regions to support strategy-making or to feed policy dialogues. WFA is the methodological framework guiding the stepwise activities of WF studies.
