ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the final element needed for leader development in the ReAChS model: support. It also explains how people will learn and develop as a leader if and when their feelings of insecurity and anxiety caused by participating in challenging leadership experiences are grappled with through assistance from people in their support network. The chapter then focuses on the exercises to help to determine who is already in ones leadership development support network and if need be, how to expand ones support network. The first exercise evaluates who is in ones current leadership development support network. In the second exercise, using ones leadership development action plan, one will strategically enhance and extend that support network to fit ones action plan needs. Third, just as one are developing them as a leader and are in need of a leadership development support network, others around them are also developing as leaders and need a support network.
