ABSTRACT
In the first sections of this book, I made it a point to remind you that photo restoration was about more than mere data recovery. At the very least, you’d like a restoration that accurately reflects the source photograph and doesn’t merely wind up looking like a copy many times removed from “originality.” At the best, and especially when a historically accurate, technical rendering is less important, a successful restoration should stand on its own as an attractive and appealing photograph.
