ABSTRACT

Digital video is a complex technology that is based on older, analog video models. In traditional analog video, the videotape is divided into four sections: image, sound 1, sound 2, and time-code. The video production process involves scripting and storyboarding, gathering resources, and editing. The entire process can be generally described as developing your vision for the finished video, gathering all the pieces you need, and putting all those pieces together. Professionals call the scripting and storyboarding process 'pre-production' and the resource-gathering process 'production'. At this point, you are creating and locating all the media you will need to complete your video. Video is a powerful medium. Video has proven itself to be a useful instructional tool in a wide variety of settings. With its ability to present moving images and sound, it can provide a particularly rich experience for viewers.
