ABSTRACT

This chapter explains about writing a screenplay. It suggests the writer to go back to the beginning after he/she knows the ending of the story. The opening pages of the film story needs to grab the reader/audience. The genre should be clear in the beginning moments of the film. The writer has to construct one or two sequences that will clue the audience in to the protagonist's normal life. The protagonist's normal life and overall need should become evident near the top of the film. The inciting incident is important, and because it starts the main character on the journey of the story, it makes sense that it would come near the beginning. It changes the normal life of the main character and sends him/her into the main story of the film. There should be a sense of conflict in every scene.
