ABSTRACT

The author has found that Photoshop is ideal to create costume renderings, because as a designer he can draw, paint, and do collages, as well as manipulate digital images, to express how he visualizes each character in costume. Photoshop also allows him to give each costume piece or accessory item that is part of a costume design its own layer (labeled as such). This chapter covers rendering techniques, and each tutorial has an accompanying video on his Rafael Jaen YouTube channel. The Photoshop color palettes can be found within a small square on the lower part of the software left tool column. When a person clicks on it, an interface window called Color Picker (Foreground Color) will come up. Though the palettes contain a finite set of colors, they offer "Color Libraries" options that are excellent for painting digital images.
