Financial reporters typically have some structure built into their monthly journalism tasks from the timetable for official economic announcements. The survey is conducted on a monthly and quarterly basis and covers 38 sectors of UK manufacturing industry. Economic forecasts and surveys by the well-respected Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development are often reported. Chartered Institute of Personnel and Developmentproduces survey reports on topical human resource issues as reward management as well as general people management and development themes. The Federation of Small Business (FSB) is a UK campaigning pressure group for the self-employed and owners of small firms. Formed in 1974, it has 200,000 members and has almost 7,000 businesses in its 'Voice of Small Business' survey panel. Financial reporting of the FSB Small Business Index should include a general comment on the mood of small business.
