ABSTRACT

The teenage years are often considered the time when parents face the greatest challenges in relation to the digital world. Children shows an interest in digital devices from the time that they can talk and touch a screen. Here are some of the major changes that make the teenage years distinctive: transition from childhood to adulthood; puberty; teenage brain; particular behaviours. The transition from child to adult means that the young person is never quite sure where he or she stands. Puberty is the time of the second biggest change in human development. Puberty involves changes in the brain and in the hormone balance in the body. As a result of the technology we have been able to understand much more clearly the nature of the changes that are occurring in the brain at this time. It is very important to recognise that there are many positive aspects of the rapid brain development that occurs during the teenage years.
