ABSTRACT

The numbers are too small to draw firm conclusions; however, in traditional venture capital a balanced team (technical, financial, sales, operational expertise) is a clear predictor of success: none of the projects with teams failed (4 in number) and those with pairs of entrepreneurs (numbering 32) succeeded more than those with individuals (320). This suggests that in addition to evaluating the business idea, investors do look at the capability of the entrepreneur(s) to deliver the plan.
