ABSTRACT
The phenomenon of corruption has existed for ages. Over the last few decades, it has become all-pervasive, especially in many developing countries, and is widely believed to be the single-most important obstacle to development. Widespread corruption across organisations, both public and private, surely goes a long way in explaining the poor performance of developing countries.
