Cheng (2006, p. 36) arrives at this conclusion from the following Hegelian-Marxian
propositions:
1. The world is (subjectively) given as oneness (thesis).
2. The world realizes itself in terms of opposition and conflict between the given and its nega-
tion (antithesis).
